Details

  • 26 March 2024 - 31 May 2024
  • All Jersey Heritage Visitor sites

Do you believe in magic? A visit to Hamptonne and La Hougue Bie may just change your mind. Les P’tits Faîtchieaux, or little folk, are back and they have been busy creating a new home. In fact, they have been so busy, we think there could be a whole village!

We hope the fairies will stay for some time and we’d like them to settle in properly before being visited by your little people, so take the opportunity to visit them and take part in the Fairy Folklore Trail and enter our competition.

Things you should know about Les P’tits Faîtchieaux

  • They don’t really like to be disturbed, so when you’ve found each door try not to poke around too much…we don’t want them to move out!
  • The fairies that live at Jersey Museum and the Maritime Museum have all they need, so please don’t leave them any gifts. Instead, maybe you have something you’d like to ask them? Close your eyes and make a wish and the fairies might hear you – let us know if your wish comes true!
  •  Les P’tits Faîtchieaux at Hamptonne, La Hougue Bie, Mont Orgueil Castle and Elizabeth Castle like to receive handmade presents, here’s some ideas on what to make them:

Gift ideas

  • Make an eco-gift, something natural like a leaf umbrella or an acorn cup of water, a daisy crown or painted pebble… please don’t bring anything plastic!
  • Leave them a story or poem outside their door, they are bound to read it once they go to bed!
