  • Mont Orgueil Castle

Monday 10am to 3pm

Winter is both humble and cunning, a medieval servant living through the harshest of times. As you step into his worn shoes, you’ll discover the life of a serf in the Castle when food was scarce, the cold seeped into every corner and the work seemed endless. But Winter, with his cheeky humour and sly wit, finds a way to survive.
The Castle’s vast halls and hidden corners are like a maze. From the shadowy alcoves to the narrow staircases, he knows where to hide when his master’s men come looking. Places where the light never reaches and where he can hide from the ever-watchful eyes of those higher up than him.

Winter knows the stories of Mont Orgueil – tales of past mischief, hidden treasures and ghostly whispers. He’ll sneak around the corridors looking for anyone willing to listen to the strange happenings that supposedly occurred within the Castle walls.

He may be a servant but he is far from powerless; he’s the heart of the Castle’s resilience, a master of wit and stories, and always finds a way to endure even in the toughest conditions.

If meeting the serf is going to be the highlight of your trip to Mont Orgueil Castle, please call +44 (0)1534 853 292 before you visit to check that performances are confirmed for that date.
