We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Junior Chef to join our team at Hamptonne from 1 March to 31 October.
You’ll help prepare food, bake items, keep the kitchen clean and organised, and support the front‑of‑house team during busy times. This role is perfect for someone with a positive attitude who enjoys variety and working with people.

Hours: 8.30am–4.30pm (varied shifts) with occasional evening work for events.

Purpose of role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile Junior Chef to join our team. This is a unique role that combines working in the kitchen with occasional front of house duties, giving you the chance to develop a wide range of hospitality skills in a friendly and professional environment. There are good opportunities for progression for the right candidate. This role while predominately based at Hamptonne but may require working on other heritage sites from time to time.
Working hours:
• Working hours are between 8.30am and 4.30pm. Specific shift times vary depending on team size, location and time of year.
• Occasional evening work to cover events
Main responsibilities and key result areas:
Chef duties
1. Preparation of menu items in line with the recipe processes.
2. Ensure the kitchen management plan is followed and completed on a daily basis, highlighting any issues immediately to the café manager.
3. Ensure that the preparation and service of food is in line with our Food Safety program and to the required recipe and presentation standards
4. Placing orders for food, drinks and packaging with suppliers as required, ensuring the correct stock levels are maintained
5. Baking cakes, scones and other items
6. Receive and check deliveries for accuracy and quality.
7. Organize and store kitchen supplies.
Kitchen Porter duties
1. Washing up dishes and kitchen utensils
2. Cleaning kitchen equipment in line with cleaning schedule
3. Maintain cleanliness of storage areas and refrigerators.
4. Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately.
5. Adhere to hygiene and food safety standards.
Front of house duties
1. Assisting the front of house team with servicing of customers in busy periods.
