Based at Jersey Museum/Jersey Archive
Overall Purpose:
The main purpose of this role is to support JH work in preparation for Year of the Normans in 2027.
Main Accountabilities and Key Result Areas:
JH has a number of initiatives planned to mark this millennium, included a Jersey Bayeux Tapestry community project, an exhibition of the Battle of Hastings in Playmobil, an exhibition of Norman church architecture, Wace poetry reading and a Son et Lumiere. The postholder will assist with putting arrangements in place for all of these projects.
Those arrangements might include research, helping with community workshops, researching travel arrangements and so on.
The postholder will assist the Heritage Environment team with the Heritage Environment Record (HER) database and with Finds administration.

Archives and Collections Intern
Job Title: Archives and Collections Intern
Department: Archives & Collections
Reports to: Senior Archivist
Reports in: None
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Temporary Position – 6 weeks – July – September 2026 (exact dates to be agreed)
Based at Jersey Archive
Overall Purpose:
To assist the archives and collections team with the auditing, cataloguing, repackaging and indexing of the museum and archive collections.
Main Accountabilities and Key Result Areas:
- To catalogue and index collections to required standards following appropriate training.
- To repackage the collections, as required.
- To use the Adlib (or similar) computer database to list items where appropriate.
- To ensure that established procedures for the handling and care of objects are followed at all times.
- To undertake all associated administration tasks.
- To undertake any other duties, as the Director may at times reasonably require.
- To adhere to and promote the Museums Association’s Code of Ethics for Museums and the Archives and Records Association Code of Conduct for Archives.
