Our Conservation team choose their favourite objects and local artists talk about selected works in the collection.
Our object and art stores hold approximately 27,000 social history objects; 150,000 items of archaeology and 11,000 works of art. Only up to 10% of these items can be on display at any one time. We run a programme of Open Store visits, throughout the year to welcome visitors to the store to give personal insights into this fascinating world of museums behind the scenes.

Conservation is the physical care of our collections, to ensure their long-term survival, for now and for future generations.
Since 1993 Jersey Archive has collected over 300,000 archival records charting the written history of the Island from 1378 to the present day.
The Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles that was occupied by the German forces during the Second World War. Jersey Heritage holds a number of collections relating to this momentous period in the Island’s history.
The clothes we wear, the accessories we use and the textiles we surround ourselves with in our homes are a visible statement of how we see ourselves and how we would wish others to see us.
