Weekend work is required. Shift times 10am-2.30pm. You’ll need your own transport, strong attention to detail, good communication skills, flexibility, reliability and an interest in Jersey Heritage is a bonus. Jersey‑resident for 5+ years only. No accommodation provided.
£16.89 per hour
Job Title: Heritage Lets Housekeeper

Hours: 10.00am – 2.30pm
Purpose of Role:
- To ensure the Heritage Lets properties are cleaned and serviced to the agreed standard between occupancies and ensure guests can take occupancy at the agreed time.
- On a rota basis, be part of the on-call team dealing with out-of-hours queries from guests staying in the Heritage Lets properties.
Working hours and expenses:
- Working hours are based around guest departures and arrivals and will include weekend work. Generally, the hours are 10.00am – 2.30pm.
- Ad-hoc hours for additional activity and call outs.
- Authorised expenses will be paid monthly on production of a receipt.
- Petrol costs are paid monthly at an agreed rate.
Main Responsibilities and Key Result Areas:
- Cleaning the self-catering properties to ensure the agreed standards are met and the accommodation is ready for incoming guests.
- Where 3rd party cleaners / cleaning companies are used, coordinate with the cleaners to ensure access is provided and carry out checks to ensure cleaning standards are maintained.
- To strip and remake beds and prepare used linen for collection – sort used linen and towels, complete laundry sheet and put into linen bags. Remove used linen and take to the agreed collection point.
- Collect clean linen and deliver to site and store. Check linen against laundry sheet to ensure correct amount has been returned. In the event of discrepancies contact the 3rd party company to resolve.
- Bag up all rubbish and glass left at the properties and check outside area for broken glass, dog mess etc. Remove rubbish from property and dispose of it at the appropriate location. Liaise with the Lets Coordinator re rubbish collection when needed.
- In conjunction with the Lets Coordinator, undertake regular inventory and maintenance checks at the sites to check equipment/facilities/lights. This includes perishable items such as salt, pepper, sugar, cooking oil, tea and coffee.
- Check the physical condition of the site and advise the Head of Commercial Operations or Lets Coordinator of any maintenance work required.
- Maintain stocks of cleaning equipment etc. as required by using stock control and the lets team in the office to place orders for replenishment.
- Maintain supplies of gas at applicable sites. Order replenishment gas as required.
- In conjunction with the Lets Coordinator, check and top up water tanks with treatment at applicable sites.
- Buy welcome packs and other items that guests may require.
- In conjunction with the Lets Coordinator wash pillow covers/sofa covers when possible and as required.
- To undertake other related duties, as Jersey Heritage may at times reasonably require.
- To adhere to and promote the Museums Association’s Code of Ethics for Museums.
