We have created this accessibility guide to accurately describe the facilities and services we offer all our visitors. It does not contain personal opinions as to the sites’ suitability for those with access needs.

	The venue has its own carpark, approximately 50m from the museum entrance with approx. 30 spaces with 2 designated disability spaces.
	The carpark has a slope at the entrance, uneven ground and may be hazardous underfoot. The road to the museum is tarmacked.
	All doors on site are manual opening, the entrance has a minimum width of 80cm.
	There is signage using international symbols throughout the museum to direct and assist users.
	The site has uneven ground or hazards underfoot.
	Site contains single step entries to buildings. Access to the Syvret House has a ramp.
	The Cider Barn has a 18-step staircase with no lift to overcome it
	There is no accessible toilet in the Stable Barn. However, there is a fully accessible unisex toilet on site.
	Standard toilets have step-free access
	Baby change facilities are available in the public toilets on site, but at standard height.
	Seating is available throughout the site.
	Assisted listening/hearing loop available at reception.
	Ambient sounds from the animals and environment. Audio narrative in the Syvret House.
	Lighting levels may be dim in some indoor areas.
	Facilities for assistance dogs to drink/rest available.
	It is generally a quiet site with plenty tranquil outdoor spaces.
	Disability awareness training has been provided to staff.
	Autism awareness training has been provided to staff.

Other useful information

The floor surfaces throughout the site are a mixture of tile, wood flooring, hogging, beaten earth and grass.
We have a set of evacuation procedures – Wheelchair loan is available free of charge on request at reception.

The shop

The shop is situated after the museum reception area, has flat level entrance and tiled flooring.

Grounds and Gardens

There are 2 main courtyards with hogging underfoot. The paths are mainly hogging/compacted earth. Many grass areas.

Catering

The café is situated in the main courtyard, has step free level access, tiled flooring, with inside/outside seating available.
