Imagine finding three generations of wedding dresses in your attic. The first dates from 1895, the second from late 1920s and third 1950s - help us conserve this unique collection of fashion history. The cost of this project is £3,000 per dress

Imagine finding three generations of wedding dresses in your attic.

These were found together when the daughter of the wearer of the last dress was clearing out her late mother’s property in Jersey. The dresses were wrapped in tissue paper and stored in cardboard boxes. Here we have fashion history at its finest - three generations of dresses from the same family. All of the dresses need textile conservation if they are to be preserved and exhibited in the future. The cost of the conservation work is  £3,000 per dress.
