We have created this accessibility guide to accurately describe the facilities and services we offer all our visitors. It does not contain personal opinions as to the sites’ suitability for those with access needs.

Access Icon of a Stair Climber chair. This is suitable for non-electric wheelchair users and those who can transfer and also for people with mobility issues who cannot climb the many stairs at MO. It can be used with a visitors non-electric wheelchair (150kg max. weight of chair and user combined ) or using our onsite wheelchair. The Castle

  • We have a set of evacuation procedures.

Shop

  • The shop is situated in the reception area at the entrance. There are 3 steps up to the reception area but also a granite slope for wheelchair access.

Grounds and Gardens

  • The pathways are hoggin and have uneven surfaces throughout.

Catering

  • The café is situated after the reception area and Second Gate.
  • It has step-free level access from the outside entrance, there is a slight incline from the terrace area.
  • There is seating available inside and out.
  • Please note only counter service available.

Stair Climber

This is a free, bookable service for anyone who uses a non-electric wheelchair or who can transfer, or who has mobility issues or would otherwise be unable climb and descend the external stairs at Mont Orgeuil. If you do use a (non-electric) wheelchair you can use that on the stair climber or you can use the wheelchair provided. The total capacity is 150kg so the wheelchair and user must not exceed this.
