La Hougue Bie Museum
Two volunteers are on site at La Hougue Bie every Tuesday morning and Friday morning lighting a fire inside the Longhouse – the smoke prevents insect infestations in the thatch roof. So if you visit La Hougue Bie on a Tuesday or Friday morning (10am to 1pm), the Neolithic Longhouse volunteers will be more than happy to show you around the replica Longhouse that they have built and now maintain. They are understandably proud of their achievement and they will explain the background of this wonderful project.
Once a month, a group of Longhouse volunteers are on site at La Hougue Bie for a five-day working week.
