Find out about the story of the Liberation of Jersey first hand from ‘Tommies of the Royal Artillery, Force 135’ who will interpret the events that followed the Liberation of the Island on 9 May 1945.

Staying on the Castle Green in period tents they will live, eat and breathe the life of a Liberation soldier and demonstrate activities undertaken by the British Army at the time including gathering deadly mines left by the Germans and making use of captured radios. Take in the period vehicles and displays of weapons, equipment and clothing, watch them cook their rations on wartime stoves and witness the flag raising ceremony. This event which is taking place at Elizabeth Castle for first time, promises to be a weekend to remember.
