Elizabeth Castle Jersey Heritage

Discovery Days are days dedicated to family fun and learning; an opportunity to find out more about Jersey’s history at every Jersey Heritage site. Discovery Days are aimed at children from reception to Year 6. They are an interactive, fun and family friendly way of exploring Jersey’s past.
Normal admission fees apply. Jersey Heritage members go free. Children under 6 years of age also go free.
Sunday 6 May Your Treasure Island Elizabeth Castle, 10am to 4pm
Become a pirate for the day as you sail away in search of Elizabeth Castle to explore your very own Treasure Island. Can you unlock the mysteries that lead to the secret beach…and the treasure? Join us for a fun filled, creative day, feel free to dress up!
Sunday 10 June Longhouse Living La Hougue Bie. 10am to 4pm
Join us at La Hougue Bie to discover how stone age people built their homes. Meet the experts who are building the Longhouse and are keen to share their skills with youngsters, they may even let you have a go. We’ll be weaving,chopping, making and doing all day it will be a fun learning experience for all the family.
Sunday 15 July Brilliant Bees Hamptonne. 10am to 4pm
Hamptonne will be buzzing with busyiness over the course of the day with experts, loads of opportunities for fun learning, plus creative and action activities – join Jersey Heritage to discover the amazing world of bees and acknowledge all the wonderful things that they do for us.
Sunday 16 September Build a Castle Mont Orgueil Castle. 10am to 4pm
Who remembers the last time we built a castle at Mont Orgueil? We created secret doors, dungeons, turrets, a working drawbridge and loads of child sized tunnels. Let’s do it again! Head to Mont Orgueil to be part of the creative collective – it’s amazing what you can create when you do it together.
Sunday 18 November Mermaids and Monsters Maritime Museum. 10am to 4pm
The open sea is a mysterious place. Miles from shore on storm-tossed seas, with nothing but water in all directions – including straight down-a sailor or fisherman cannot help but wonder what lurks in the depths. When the oceans were still unexplored, these fears often took the form of mermaids and monsters. Join us at the Maritime Museum where we’ll be creating some monsters of our own.
Sunday 16 December The Magic of Christmas Jersey Museum. 10am to 4pm
Start the countdown to Christmas at Jersey Museum this coming Sunday - spend some quality time with the children before your Christmas to do list completely takes over. Whilst the ever popular Royston South entertains us with his energetic 'Magical Christmas balloon show' at 12.45pm and 2pm, Santa will be waiting patiently to see you in the tranquil surroundings of the Merchant's House.
