A team of volunteers from Ogier helped out at Elizabeth Castle last week as they helped to do much needed restoration work on some of the large guns on display.
In recent years half of the exhibition gallery at the Castle has been closed. Working with the Jersey Heritage conservation expert the Ogier team managed to strip all the guns down to bare metal where they were rusting and then paint them with metal primer, ready for a new coat of paint this week. A super job done which means this exhibition gallery can re-open to the public once again.

We have a whole host of volunteer projects to do at the castle, so if you are a group who'd like to get involved then let us know. There will be some fundraising involved in the volunteering to help cover the costs of materials.
Paint the bunkers - help us paint the WW2 bunkers on site
Beach clear - volunteer to help clear the beach around the castle
Steward - Help us on 6 September or 21 October as a steward at one of our events
If you think you can help by organising a volunteer group at the castle, contact Helen Gray for more information.
