Harry Vardon Golf Challenge

Outline of golfer

This one-off charity golf day has been created to celebrate the achievements of Jersey golf icon Harry Vardon  on the 150th anniversary of The Open Golf Championship in 2022.

The event will take place at the Jersey Royal Golf Club on Friday 15 July 2022 (first Friday of the Open),  and will consist of one round of golf for 24 teams (96 players) followed by lunch in the club house.
The Harry Vardon Golf Challenge will be a unique event, as Jersey Heritage will display Harry Vardon’s medals  and will enable guests to see and photograph themselves with some of these rare medals creating a long  lasting memory of the day.

£600 per team of four (inclusive of golf, lunch, and prizes. A light breakfast of coffee, tea and croissants will be provided also).

At lunch, members of the Jersey Heritage Collections team will present the Harry Vardon Open Golf Championship medals for photo opportunities.

Why fundraise for Jersey Heritage?
In 2019, it cost around £6M to operate Jersey Heritage (JH). At one time 90% funded by Government grants Jersey Heritage has striven to develop a mixed-funding model to manage risks to funding streams as far as possible and to optimise public value, and now generates 50% of its required funding.Along with many other charities and organisations, Jersey Heritage has been hit hard by Covid-19. Many of our income streams have been blocked, and although we have previously managed to self-fund 50% of what is required, we have been unable to do so.It is now that we look to the community to assist us in our mission to protect, preserve and promote our Island’s important heritage.
