It's apple season, and our favourite time of year at Jersey Heritage. The orchard at Hamptonne is fragrant with the smell of apples and looks beautiful in the autumn light.
We are preparing for La Faîs’sie d’Cidre, the cider making festival and over the next two weeks we'll be collecting all the apples to use in the cider making process.
Learn more about apples and Jersey's rich heritage of cider making with the Apple Apprentice Discovery Day, on our Heritage at Home Hub. Maybe it will inspire you to join in with the apple picking next year and eventually become one of our cider making volunteers!
Supported by Lloyds Bank.
Apple Picking at Hamptonne
Cider making is at the very heart of La Faîs'sie d'Cidre, preserving Jersey’s rich Heritage of cider production, and providing opportunities for community involvement so the tradition is able to continue into the future.
Thank you to everyone who contacted us to take part, your support has been amazing. For this year, both apple picking days are now full.
La Faîs’sie d’Cidre
For this year only we're celebrating cider-making in a different way. La Faîs’sie d’Cidre is all about the apples and the annual apple picking and cider making continues despite Covid-19.
Cider making is at the very heart of La Faîs'sie d'Cidre and to celebrate Jersey’s rich Heritage of apple growing and cider production our cider-making volunteers will be working hard behind the scenes to ensure that you have something to taste at La Faîs'sie d'Cidre 2021.
