Diana - Small Boat, Big Story

It’s been 80 years since a fleet of small boats left Jersey to rescue soldiers and civilians from German forces in St Malo and heritage boat Diana played a role in this operation. In this talk, historian Doug Ford talks about this rescue, Diana’s other stories and the importance of keeping these heritage boats in the water.

A short film made for the Diana exhibition at the Maritime Museum.

Finally, part four takes you to the SW coast where you'll meet the cod fishermen.

Thirty years ago on 30 May, the States of Jersey decriminalised homosexuality. In this talk, hear about one of Jersey’s LGBT citizens and artists, Claude Cahun.

iconic women of jersey and the story of votes for women

Archives and Collections Director, Linda Romeril, gives a talk about the development of the law supporting women in, the women's suffrage movement leading to the change in the law allowing women to vote in Jersey.

Votes for Women – the Pioneers

One hundred years after women in Jersey got the Vote, we remember the activists who helped make it happen. Though their campaign was not as militant as that of the Suffragettes in the UK, there’s no doubt that campaigning by Caroline Trachy and the Women’s Jersey Political Union, changed hearts and minds ahead of a crucial States of Jersey debate in 1919.
