Evacuation stories - News - Jersey Heritage

We are looking for stories of families who made the difficult decision to evacuate before the arrival of the Germans and did not return at the end of the war, in particular the stories of families who migrated around the world far from their Island home.

This year Jersey will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Channel Islands from German occupation and Jersey Heritage is working on a new exhibition to mark the occasion.

We are looking for stories of families who made the difficult decision to evacuate before the arrival of the Germans and did not return at the end of the war, in particular the stories of families who migrated around the world far from their Island home.

We would love to hear the stories that Jersey emigrants told to their children and grandchildren about their Island home and their war experiences.

If you have family members living in America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or elsewhere who would be willing to share their stories, we would love to hear from you.
