Planning a Visit

If you are a teacher and would like to arrange a school visit, please contact us and we will do everything we can to accommodate your needs. Just read this information on how to make a booking and send us an email.

Jersey schools benefit from free access to all Jersey Heritage visitor sites (when pre arranged as a school visit).

Jersey Heritage can advise how to make the most of a visit to one of our museums or sites, and we can show you how to link these visits to the curriculum. We can also provide talks and tours to many different places on the Island and we can even visit you at your school. In addition, boxes full of fascinating

artefacts are available to borrow for classroom study.

In order to ensure that your visit goes smoothly we recommend that you complete this form and submit it as early as possible.  Whenever possible we try to avoid having more than one school present on site at any one time.

Tide Timetable for visits to Elizabeth Castle click here

The causeway to Elizabeth Castle is just below the half-tide mark and this is the period when there is the greatest movement of water so it very important that whenever you make a visit to Elizabeth Castle you must know what the tide is doing.  This downloadable tidetable gives the times and heights of the tide throughout the year – Remember all times are given in Greenwich Mean Time so it is important to add an hour to allow for British Summer Time. As a rough guide the causeway is safe to walk for 2 ¼ hours either side of low water on no account should you attempt to cross if the tide is covering the path.
