Occupation Resources

The Channel Islands were the only British territory to be occupied by the Nazis during the Second World War.

Many islanders were deported, some to concentration camps and prisons, where a number died through the mistreatment they received.

The website Occupation Memorial was created as an educational resource to provide information related to the victims of this period and to record the efforts of those who came to their aid. It is also the primary resource for Jersey's annual Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration and includes survivor testimonies and accounts relating to the fate of forced workers transported to the islands.

In addition to an extensive Occupation photographic archive Occupation Memorial also includes personal accounts from the German Occupation.
