Jersey Heritage and Mourant du Feu & Jeune invite people of all ages to take part in
The BIG GREEN Draw
Whether you are an artist or a scientist, an architect or an environmentalist, we want you to use your imagination
to draw a green home.
Lots of things can make a home green and eco friendly
• Encouraging wildlife – nesting boxes for birds, flowers for bees, or specially designed box to welcome a hedgehog
• Growing vegetables and fruit – in a garden, on a window sill, on the roof or up the walls
• Using less energy – with insulation to stop draughts and stop heat disappearing
• Using green energy – wind or water to make electricity; solar panels for heat; perhaps pedal power to run a television or computer
• Using waste – composting and recycling
Or perhaps you can think of a completely different type of green home to draw.
Pick up your Mourant Big Draw postcard at any Jersey Heritage site or at Channel 103.
You can draw with conventional tools like pencils, pen & ink, pastels, crayons, charcoal…or you can use mixed media…or collage…or you can produce your image digitally – the choice is yours!
The only restriction is the size: please make your image a5 – using the Mourant Big draw postcard – then we can exhibit all the artwork in the link gallery at Jersey Museum in 2010.
Please write a short sentence on the back of the postcard explaining what your image is – how and why it is a green Home. We need to know your name, age, address and contact telephone number. let us know if you are Pre-school or nursery (up to 5 years), Ks1 (ages 5 to 7), Ks2 (ages 7 to 11), secondary (Ks3 & 4 - ages 11 to 18) or adult (18 and
above). a winner in each of these five categories will receive a prize from the Mourant, du Feu & Jeune Property team.
The closing date is Friday 1 January 2010
